Transliteration: Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

Transliteration: Waalshshamsi waduhaha
By the sun and his brightness,

Transliteration: Waalqamari itha talaha
and by the moon when she follows him,

Transliteration: Waalnnahari itha jallaha
and by the day when it makes (the sun) conspicuous

Transliteration: Waallayli itha yaghshaha
and by the night when it covers up (the sun),

Transliteration: Waalssamai wama banaha
and by the heaven and Him Who established it,

Transliteration: Waalardi wama tahaha
and by the earth and Him Who spread it,

Transliteration: Wanafsin wama sawwaha
and by the human self and Him Who balanced it,

Transliteration: Faalhamaha fujooraha wataqwaha
then inspired it with its wickedness and its piety.

Transliteration: Qad aflaha man zakkaha
Truly successful is he who purified his self

Transliteration: Waqad khaba man dassaha
and a failure he who suppressed it.

Transliteration: Kaththabat thamoodu bitaghwaha
Thamud belied (the Truth) because of their transgression.

Transliteration: Ithi inbaAAatha ashqaha
When the most wretched of them rose up, in his rage,

Transliteration: Faqala lahum rasoolu Allahi naqata Allahi wasuqyaha
the Messenger of Allah warned them, saying, "(Do not molest) the she-camel of Allah, and (do not hinder her from) drinking water."

Transliteration: Fakaththaboohu faAAaqarooha fadamdama AAalayhim rabbuhum bithanbihim fasawwaha
But they belied what he said and killed the she-camel. Consequently, their Lord let loose on them a scourge in consequence of their sin and leveled them down all together,

Transliteration: Wala yakhafu AAuqbaha
and he has no fear of any evil result (of his this action).
