Translation: Remember when you said, "O Moses, we are not going to believe you until we see with our own eyes Allah (talking to you)". At that very time a thunderbolt struck you while you were looking on and you fell lifeless.
Translit: Waith qultum ya moosa lan numina laka hatta nara Allaha jahratan faakhathatkumu alssaAAiqatu waantum tanthuroona

Translation:If the people of the Book are today asking you to cause a Book to come down upon them from heaven, they have already made even more monstrous demands from Moses. They said to him, "Make us see Allah with our own eyes." As a result of their wickedness, a thunder-bolt smote them all of a sudden. Then they took the calf as the object of their worship, after they had seen clear signs: but even after this, We forgave them. We bestowed upon Moses a clear Commandment
Translit: Yasaluka ahlu alkitabi an tunazzila AAalayhim kitaban mina alssamai faqad saaloo moosa akbara min thalika faqaloo arina Allaha jahratan faakhathathumu alssaAAiqatu bithulmihim thumma ittakhathoo alAAijla min baAAdi ma jaathumu albayyinatu faAAafawna AAan thalika waatayna moosa sultanan mubeenan

Translation:Now if they turn away, say to them, "I warn you of a thunderbolt of punishment the like of which had descended upon the 'Ad and the Thamud.
