Translation:

As for those who have rejected (these things), it is all the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they are not going to believe.

Translit: Inna allatheena kafaroo sawaaun AAalayhim aa Aanthartahum am lam tunthirhum laa yuminoona

They also say, "The fire of Hell is not going to touch us, and even if it does at all, it will be only for a few days". Say, "Have you obtained a promise from Allah which He would not break? Or, do you attribute to Allah things you do not know?

Translit: Waqaloo lan tamassana alnnaru illa ayyaman maAAdoodatan qul attakhathtum AAinda Allahi AAahdan falan yukhlifa Allahu AAahdahu am taqooloona AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

Well, you have argued on their behalf in this worldly life but who will argue their case with Allah on the Day of Resurrection? Or who will be their defender there?

Translit: Haantum haolai jadaltum AAanhum fee alhayati alddunya faman yujadilu Allaha AAanhum yawma alqiyamati am man yakoonu AAalayhim wakeelan

Translation:

Likewise, take a pair of the camel family and a pair of the cow family, and ask them, "Has He of these forbidden the males or the females or the young ones that are in the wombs of the she-camel and the cow?" Were you present at the time when Allah prescribed these prohibitory laws? (If not), who can then be more wicked than the one, who invents a falsehood and ascribes it to Allah so that he should, without knowledge, mislead the people? Indeed, Allah does not show guidance to such transgressors.

Translit: Wamina alibili ithnayni wamina albaqari ithnayni qul alththakarayni harrama ami alonthayayni amma ishtamalat AAalayhi arhamu alonthayayni am kuntum shuhadaa ith wassakumu Allahu bihatha faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban liyudilla alnnasa bighayri AAilmin inna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

If you invite them to follow the Right Way, they will not follow you; it will be all the same for you whether you call them or keep silent.

Translit: Wain tadAAoohum ila alhuda la yattabiAAookum sawaon AAalaykum adaAAawtumoohum am antum samitoona

Translation:

Have they feet that they should walk with them? Or have they hands that they should hold with them? Or have they eyes that they should see with them? Or have they ears that they should hear with them? Tell them, O Muhammad. "Call up the partners you have set up; then all of you sit down together and plot against me and give me no respite."

Translit: Alahum arjulun yamshoona biha am lahum aydin yabtishoona biha am lahum aAAyunun yubsiroona biha am lahum athanun yasmaAAoona biha quli odAAoo shurakaakum thumma keedooni fala tunthirooni

Translation:

Why, is he better who founded his building upon Allahs fear and for His approval or he who founded his building on the brink of an under-mined bank that tumbled with him down into the fire of Hell? Allah never shows the Right Way to such workers of iniquity.

Translit: Afaman assasa bunyanahu AAala taqwa mina Allahi waridwanin khayrun am man assasa bunyanahu AAala shafa jurufin harin fainhara bihi fee nari jahannama waAllahu la yahdee alqawma alththalimeena

Translation:

O Prophet, ask them, "Have you ever considered that you yourselves have made something unlawful and the other lawful out of what Allah has given you?" Then ask them, "Has Allah allowed you this or do you ascribe a false thing to Him?"

Translit: Qul araaytum ma anzala Allahu lakum min rizqin fajaAAaltum minhu haraman wahalalan qul allahu athina lakum am AAala Allahi taftaroona

Translation:

Ask them, "Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth ?" Say, "Allah." Then say to them, "When this is the fact, have you then made beside Him such deities your protectors as can do neither good nor harm even to themselves ?" Say, "Are the blind man and the seeing man alike? Are light and darkness alike?" And if it is not so, have the partners, they have set up with Allah, created anything like His creation so as to make the matter of creation doubtful for them? Say, Allah alone is the Creator of everything; and He is the Unique, the Almighty.

Translit: Qul man rabbu alssamawati waalardi quli Allahu qul afaittakhathtum min doonihi awliyaa la yamlikoona lianfusihim nafAAan wala darran qul hal yastawee alaAAma waalbaseeru am hal tastawee alththulumatu waalnnooru am jaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa khalaqoo kakhalqihi fatashabaha alkhalqu AAalayhim quli Allahu khaliqu kulli shayin wahuwa alwahidu alqahharu

Translation:

What! are they (so audacious that they are) setting up partners with Him Who is watching minutely over the actions of each and every soul? O Prophet say to them, "(If God has Himself set them up as His partners) just tell me their names. Do you mean to inform Him of something new that He Himself is unaware of on His earth? Or do you merely utter empty words? Indeed for those who rejected the Message their fraud has been made to appear fair to them and they have been debarred froth the Right Way: and there is none to show the Right Way to those whom Allah lets go astray.

Translit: Afaman huwa qaimun AAala kulli nafsin bima kasabat wajaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa qul sammoohum am tunabbioonahu bima la yaAAlamu fee alardi am bithahirin mina alqawli bal zuyyina lillatheena kafaroo makruhum wasuddoo AAani alssabeeli waman yudlili Allahu fama lahu min hadin

Translation:

And when those people shall all be exposed together before Allah, then those who were weak in this world will say to those who had posed as big ones."As we followed you in the world, can you now do anything to relieve us from the torment of Allah?" They will reply, "Had Allah guided us to the way of salvation, we would have certainly guided you to it. Now it is all the same whether we bewail it or bear it with patience: there is for us no way of escape."

Translit: Wabarazoo lillahi jameeAAan faqala aldduAAafao lillatheena istakbaroo inna kunna lakum tabaAAan fahal antum mughnoona AAanna min AAathabi Allahi min shayin qaloo law hadana Allahu lahadaynakum sawaon AAalayna ajaziAAna am sabarna ma lana min maheesin

he hides himself from people because of this disgrace, asking himself whether he should suffer his daughter with disgrace or bury her alive. What an evil judgment they have about Allah!

Translit: Yatawara mina alqawmi min sooi ma bushshira bihi ayumsikuhu AAala hoonin am yadussuhu fee altturabi ala saa ma yahkumoona

Moses returned to his people in a state of anger and grief. Reaching there, he said, "O my people, did not your Lord make good promises with you? Had a long time passed since those promises were fulfilled? Or did you want Allah's wrath to come down upon you that you went against your Covenant with me?"

Translit: FarajaAAa moosa ila qawmihi ghadbana asifan qala ya qawmi alam yaAAidkum rabbukum waAAdan hasanan afatala AAalaykumu alAAahdu am aradtum an yahilla AAalaykum ghadabun min rabbikum faakhlaftum mawAAidee

They said, "What! Are you presenting your real ideas before us, or are you jesting?"

Translit: Qaloo ajitana bialhaqqi am anta mina allaAAibeena

If even then, they turn away from it, tell them plainly, "I have warned you openly; now I do not know whether that thing with which you are being threatened is near at hand or far off.

Translit: Fain tawallaw faqul athantukum AAala sawain wain adree aqareebun am baAAeedun ma tooAAadoona

Translation:

Have the disbelievers never considered the Word? Or, has he brought something the like of which had not come to their forefathers?

Translit: Afalam yaddabbaroo alqawla am jaahum ma lam yati abaahumu alawwaleena

Translation:

Are their hearts afflicted with the disease (of hypocrisy)? Or, are they in doubt? Or, do they fear that Allah and His Messenger will be unjust to them? In fact, they themselves are unjust.

Translit: Afee quloobihim maradun ami irtaboo am yakhafoona an yaheefa Allahu AAalayhim warasooluhu bal olaika humu alththalimoona

Ask them "Is this (Fire) better or the everlasting Garden which has been promised to the God-fearing righteous people?" which will be the recompense of their good deeds and the final destination of their journey

Translit: Qul athalika khayrun am jannatu alkhuldi allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona kanat lahum jazaan wamaseeran

And on that Day (your Lord ) will gather all these people together as well as their deities, whom they worship besides Allah. Then He will ask them, "Did you mislead these servants of Mine, or did they themselves go astray?"

Translit: Wayawma yahshuruhum wama yaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi fayaqoolu aantum adlaltum AAibadee haolai am hum dalloo alssabeela

They replied, "Whether you admonish us or not, it is the same for us:

(On another occasion) Solomon reviewed his birds and said, "How is it that I do not see the hoopoe? Has he disappeared somewhere?

Translit: Watafaqqada alttayra faqala ma liya la ara alhudhuda am kana mina alghaibeena

Solomon said, "We shall just now see whether what you say is true, or that you are a liar.

Translit: Qala sananthuru asadaqta am kunta mina alkathibeena

Translation:

He who possessed knowledge of the Book, spoke out, "I will fetch it to you in the twinkling of an eye." As soon as Solomon saw the throne placed before him, he exclaimed: "This is by the Grace of my Lord so that He may test me (to see) whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And the one who is grateful is grateful only for the good of his own self; as for the one who is ungrateful, my Lord is All-Sufficient and Self-Exalted."

Translit: Qala allathee AAindahu AAilmun mina alkitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla an yartadda ilayka tarfuka falamma raahu mustaqirran AAindahu qala hatha min fadli rabbee liyabluwanee aashkuru am akfuru waman shakara fainnama yashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fainna rabbee ghaniyyun kareemun

Solomon said, "Se her throne before her casually; let us see whether she reaches the truth, or she is one of those who are not guided aright."

Translit: Qala nakkiroo laha AAarshaha nanthur atahtadee am takoonu mina allatheena la yahtadoona

Translation:

No one knows whether this man forges a lie in the name of Allah or is mad." Nay, but those only, who do not believe in the Hereafter, will incur the punishment and they are involved in gross error.

Translit: Aftara AAala Allahi kathiban am bihi jinnatun bali allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati fee alAAathabi waalddalali albaAAeedi

Translation:

(O Prophet,) say to them, "Have you ever seen those associates of yours whom you invoke instead of Allah? Tell me: What have they created in the earth, or what is their share in the heavens?" (If they cannot tell this, ask them :) "Have We given them a writing affording a clear sanction (for their shirk)?" Nay, but these wicked people are only beguiling one another with delusions.

Translit: Qul araaytum shurakaakumu allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi aroonee matha khalaqoo mina alardi am lahum shirkun fee alssamawati am ataynahum kitaban fahum AAala bayyinatin minhu bal in yaAAidu alththalimoona baAAduhum baAAdan illa ghurooran

It is all the same for them whether you warn them or warn them not, they would not believe.

Translit: Wasawaon AAalayhim aanthartahum am lam tunthirhum la yuminoona

Now ask them: What is more difficult: their own creation or of those things which We have created? Of sticky clay We have created them.

Should We treat those who believe and do good works like those who spread mischief in the earth? Should We treat the pious as the sinners?

Translit: Am najAAalu allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati kaalmufsideena fee alardi am najAAalu almuttaqeena kaalfujjari

Did we treat them as such in ridicule, or are they hidden from sight?"

Translit: Attakhathnahum sikhriyyan am zaghat AAanhumu alabsaru

The Lord said, "O Iblis, what has prevented you from prostrating yourself before him whom I have made with both My hands? Are you assuming arrogance, or are you one of the high ones?"

Translit: Qala ya ibleesu ma manaAAaka an tasjuda lima khalaqtu biyadayya astakbarta am kunta mina alAAaleena

Those who misconstrue Our Revelations are not in any way hidden from Us. Just consider who is better: he who will be cast into the Hell-Fire, or he who will appear on the Day of Resurrection in full security? Do as you please; Allah is watching over everything you do.

Translit: Inna allatheena yulhidoona fee ayatina la yakhfawna AAalayna afaman yulqa fee alnnari khayrun am man yatee aminan yawma alqiyamati iAAmaloo ma shitum innahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun

saying, "Are our gods better, or is he?" They have cited this example to you only in the spirit of dispute. The fact is that they are a quarrelsome people.

Translit: Waqaloo aalihatuna khayrun am huwa ma daraboohu laka illa jadalan bal hum qawmun khasimoona

Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them only because they had become wicked.

Translit: Ahum khayrun am qawmu tubbaAAin waallatheena min qablihim ahlaknahum innahum kanoo mujrimeena

O Prophet, say to them, "Have you ever seen with open eyes those whom you invoke instead of Allah? Show me what they have created in the world, or, have they any share in the creation and control of the heavens? Bring me a Book revealed before this, or produce some remnant of knowledge (in support of your beliefs) if you are truthful."

Translit: Qul araaytum ma tadAAoona min dooni Allahi aroonee matha khalaqoo mina alardi am lahum shirkun fee alssamawati eetoonee bikitabin min qabli hatha aw atharatin min AAilmin in kuntum sadiqeena

Have they not pondered over the Qur'an, or are there locks upon their hearts?
