Al-Fatir: 35.40 - Punishment due to evil deeds

Translit: Qul araaytum shurakaakumu allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi aroonee matha khalaqoo mina alardi am lahum shirkun fee alssamawati am ataynahum kitaban fahum AAala bayyinatin minhu bal in yaAAidu alththalimoona baAAduhum baAAdan illa ghurooran
Translation: (O Prophet,) say to them, "Have you ever seen those associates of yours whom you invoke instead of Allah? Tell me: What have they created in the earth, or what is their share in the heavens?" (If they cannot tell this, ask them :) "Have We given them a writing affording a clear sanction (for their shirk)?"
